Artificial Maintenance Manager and Butler for Predictive Maintenance of Screw Conveyors
At the Solids trade fair 2023, Klinkenberg Zaanstad introduced its latest IoT innovations for monitoring screw conveyors. The goal: to enable predictive maintenance, prevent unplanned downtime, and address the shortage of technical personnel.
In addition to IoT, artificial intelligence (AI) plays a key role. This has led to the development of two intelligent systems: the Artificial Maintenance Manager (AMM) and the Artificial Maintenance Butler (AMB). These systems are continuously being refined to enhance accuracy and reliability.
The AMM collects and processes critical operational data from the conveyor system, including seal status, temperature, bearing load, motor current, and operating hours. This data is evaluated against predefined performance criteria.
The AMB analyzes this information and issues timely alerts when maintenance is required. It identifies the issue, automatically generates a parts list (including prices), and provides step-by-step maintenance instructions. As a result, maintenance can be carried out quickly and correctly. Notifications are sent via email or SMS, depending on user preference.
With AMM and AMB, Klinkenberg introduces a future-proof solution for predictive maintenance in the bulk handling industry—significantly increasing both reliability and system availability.
